The D9's came along about when Diamond started cheaping out a little, but still charged a lot for them. I'm not all about the macs like some are so yes, I do thing they are overpriced. I am running a JL Audio 450/4 power amplifier for my components (300 watts of that is going to the D9's). The mid-bass response is out of this world. The tweeters can be a little strong depending on your taste but with the a little/a lot of tuning you can find ur desired level.

I run a diamond audio hex 3 way setup in my grand am with a d9 subwoofer. In my stealth i currently have a set of D6 components and d3 6x9's in the rear with a d3400.4 running it. Strength: Super crisp and clear sound. The bass is tight and loud. I over power them above their rms limit with no problems. You really do have to use them with the supplied crossovers or they sound like crap. I've been tortouring mine for years now. Put em in my car, truck and my boat. They need a good amp to power them.
