Why disable in BIOS? If your not using it it's not used, I just wonder what the motivation is. I use the optical out for audio in to an TV amp, been thinking about switching to HDMI ->amp (to get audio) -> HDMI to second display. Not tested but think it's a valid option but not bothered yet as I suspect there will be no real change for stereo use.
