I found an issue in (core) DTS pass-through from a DTS-HD audio track in MKV: no sound. (The core DTS pass-through from a DTS-HD track in M2TS works fine.) A workaround is uncheck also DTS pass-through in the "DD/DTS" preset, like below. This way, all audio streams will be re-encoded to AC3 (only AC3 track is pass-through).
