When I import movies from mini DV which have sound dropouts it causes the imported movie to skip these parts. The result is that the imported movie constantly skips forward. When I play the tape on the camcorder the picture is uninterrupted with audio dropouts every few seconds.

ALL video/audio sync in dv captures are lost between takes (when the camcorder stops recording, then begins again). So I recaptured just the audio via analogue and its 100%. Looking carefully at the footage the audio dropouts in the DV captured track last the duration of a clip and from what I can see it seems only to affect clips that have had some intense FX applied such as SloMo and the SloMo looks pretty bad.

So, When I capture them from a Samsung VP-D395 DV camcorder, I get video without audio.
