The result. title.mp4, has both video and audio and plays just fine in VLC media player. But DVD Architect will not recognize the audio portion of the render. If I render to *.avi format, DVD Architect does recognize the audio, but the image is degraded. (The originals are clips from YouTube and some sections copied off of a DVD.)

Hello, I am attempting to burn a video file to DVD using DVD Architect 5.0. The file is a TS file. When I open the file in the program however there is no sound. Same for when I open the file in Vegas Studios. However, if I play the file in a media player there is sound and the properties of the file show there is an audio track.

If it is the same problem then it has the same solution: render your video and audio separately using the same filename stem. The video will have a .mpg extension and the audio will have a .ac3 extension. My memory may be false but an earlier version of DVDA might have accepted a combined video and audio file but it would re-render the audio.

Do you have the final builds of Sony MSP 12 and DVD Architect Studio 5 (1184 and 186, respectively). Some builds of DVD A S 5 had trouble with AC-3 Studio audio. As the good Doc said, you need to render separately video and audio (DVD A PAL widescreen video stream AND Dolby Digital AC-3 Studio Stereo DVD). More on that in Derek's posts 2, 4 and 6.

I've read that it does this. Beyond that, I see the Properties option for "default audio" as stereo or 5.1 - this is just the one that plays when no option is chosen, right? So no matter what I select there, or elsewhere - it ends up being a stereo audio playback. Even when the dvd says on the player that it's "3/2 surround" it is just stereo.
