The result. title.mp4, has both video and audio and plays just fine in VLC media player. But DVD Architect will not recognize the audio portion of the render. If I render to *.avi format, DVD Architect does recognize the audio, but the image is degraded. (The originals are clips from YouTube and some sections copied off of a DVD.)

Sometimes it will pick up the sound in the (mostly .mpg) file and sometimes it won't. Doesn't seem to matter what audio format. DVDA Pro will render the audio to AC3 if you tell it to, but the audio needs to be in the timeline in the first place. My workaround is to use DGIndex to demux the audio and then load it into the timeline.

Select MPEG-2 for the file type then use the DVD Architect NTSC Video Stream. You will note that there is no audio selected to be rendered that is because you now have to render the audio stream separately. Select Dolby Ac-3 Pro as the file type and render the audio using the same name as the video clip.

Check that you use in VMStudio the DVD-Architect template, which does not include sound. Then do a second render to AC3 format to get the sound. Make sure you give the two rendered files exactly the same name except for the .mpg & .ac3 extensions. Then use Insert Media in DVDA Studio and bring your .mpg file, the .ac3 file will come with it.
