Ripping Audio From DVD's To 16 or 24bit? : audiophile

Ripping a 16bit file into 24bit will not improve the sound quality in ANY. It won't make it worse, (it literally only adds a bunch of 0s to the bit stream) but you will be wasting valuable hard drive space. If the file is 24bit, then definitely keep it 24bit, but there's no reason at all to waste space by converting 16bit to 24bit.
