I have determined that this is where the problem originates. I opened PD7. Imported the DVR-MS file. PD7 automatically converted it. I saved the project which also saves the converted dvr-ms file. I opened the mpg file with media player. The audio and video is in sync at the beginning but over in the file the audio and video is out of sync.

A DVR-MS file is audio and video in two seperate streams with a timing data stream. When creating an MPEG the audio and video were simply combined and the timing data was not used hence audio sync issues.
Video(lips) and voice(audio) not in sync
https://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/2805.page
Problem appears to be with dvr-ms. A good AVI file worked OK. Put software "AVI Video Tools" on older XP desktop and got audio first then lips moving. On new Vista desktop, looks like reversed, video then audio. Did not put PD6 back on XP (being discontinued) for more tests. So, PD6 fails on dvr-ms loading (converting) into Edit correctly.

Join Date. Aug 2002. I just got a basic DVR which records onto a USB drive and have recorded a film from DTV as an .mts file directly onto such a drive. Opening the file in VirtualDub shows an approximate sync issue of about -1000ms. Putting this into the interleave setting has the video and audio in sync as I skip through the file.
