The new Audience 52 SE is real wood veneer finish, new Crossover, Binding posts, Contour S Tweeter and Contour 1.3MKII Driver. That's why my initial impression of Audience 52 SE should be win over the 1.3MKII(since it has better tweeter with others conditions more or less the same with 1.3MKII).

Actually the bass is a bit too overwhelming in smaller rooms - like mine - so the 52SE might be the right choice - especially when using the sub to extend lower end.
