I'm going to review the Dynaudio BM5A near-field reference monitors, a high-performance active near-field monitor that was designed for recording/mixing environments where space is a constraint. However, this does not preclude the possibility of the BM5A being used in a more professional recording/mixing environment.

I have both BM5a and BM5a MKII hooked up to a BM9s subwoofer. Comparison done by Martin W in above post is accurate. BM5a MKII has a lot more bass and emphasis on lower-mid. I set high frequency pass at 60Hz so the LFE performance is irrelevant. I will have to say, BM5a sounds a bit sweeter, cleaner. and pairs better with a sub.
