Dynaudio Focus 220 vs. Focus 220 II vs. Focus 140. Has anyone heard the Focus 220 II? How does it compare to the Focus 220? I'm loving the sound of the Focus series and I'm pretty sure that's the speaker for me. I've listened extensively to the Focus 220 and Focus 140 speakers in my room. I enjoyed both of them, but I found the 140 to have a ...

Verdict. These Dynaudios are very fine speakers; all they lack is a little star quality. They’re well worth a listen, though. We tested the original version of the Focus 220 back in 2006. In the past I've owned Dynaudio Excite X32, X14 and Focus 160, and at my dealer's place I've listened to DM 2/7, DM3/7, X12, X16, X34, Contour 3.4 & some of their active speakers. I've also owned some BM5A MKII's btw. - active speakers for music production. IMO it's hard to find bad-sounding Dynaudio speakers. Just give them plenty of power. EDIT:

I've spent many hours doing direct comparison of Special 40 and Contour 20 at my local dealer. Music tracks, amplification, wiring, etc. all the same. I have owned Focus 160 and currently own Focus 260. Special 40 is *maybe* 5-10% better than Focus 160 to my ears but not an upgrade over Focus 260.
