Ok, here go the gory details of what I'm attempting to do. I purchased Roxio Easy VHS to DVD. I am attempting to transfer audio from LP's. I have connected the turntable to the computer with the provided USB capture device. The only thing here to hook up are the red and white rca cables, so I'm pretty sure this is correct.

The S-connection only transfer the video, no audio. If you use the s-cable you will have to get a red-white cable set and there is no need for a yellow connection. You can also get a yellow/red/white cable set. In this case you do not use the s-connector. There are cables available that have all 4 connection in one set.
