· Did you check the video and audio capturing settings in the EasyCap 2.0 software? I would suggest you to re-install the drivers for your device in compatibility mode and then check if you’re able to get the audio. Some of the end users have resolved this issue by installing the driver using the Windows 7 Compatibility mode.

The easycaps sometimes come with an old version of Ulead Video Studio which will NOT work beyond XP. Also, why the mic socket ?. Even if the capture software is 'working' it probably does not see that input. Audio should go to the audio-in (pink) socket. If your laptop does not have one of those then you are shot. I use Ulead 10.

The lack of firmware is why “VLC 3.0.4 Vetinari” can work with some EasyCAP hardware (those with built-in firmware) but not others. VLC > Open Media > Capture Device tab > Capture mode only lists DirectShow, “TV - digital”, and Desktop. There is no “USB cam”.

You have a fake EZcap/EasyCap, which probably has defective drivers or requires audio to be plugged directly into the PC's audio line in for capture. The genuine EzCap 116 sold by ezcap.tv comes with Arcsoft Showbiz 3.5 not Ulead Video Studio v10.0. Most good capture products have basic support while they are still available for sale.

The red/white RCA cables are the audio (left/right). The yellow RCA is the composite video input. So, assuming the device is outputting audio, I'd suspect a configuration issue or a faulty EasyCap. Part of the EasyCap setup should have been to configure the audio, or at least I would expect it to be.
