Ellis 1801b simply demolate them. I couldn't believe it. I am so happy with them. Finally I speaker to keep for a lifetime. A smile is on my face now. If you will have the chance to get an Ellis 1801b you will never regret it. Sound beautiful, plain, bass is having slam, dynamics and transient are properly represented.

The bass on the 1801s is fast and accurate, they just do not get down to 20Hz. Once I hooked the 1801b's up and listened to them I knew the Acoustats were history. These are really great speakers for the money. They image, do not add anyting significant to the music, and you can pretty well rattle the windows with them.

You might want to also look into the Ellis Audio 1801b's. Check out the reviews on audioreview.com... from the people I have talked to, they are great. The owner of Ellis Audio (Dave) is a really nice down-to-earth kind of guy too. I have spoken with him on what amps to match with his speakers over email.
