Answer#1 – Obviously a higher bitrate will produce a better looking video. To get the most quality out of your video, you will likely want to customize the bitrate and not use one of the general presets offered by Encore. Using a bitrate calculator you will see that for 2 hours of video with 192 kbps audio, your average bitrate should be 4.8 Mbps.

Copy link to clipboard. Copied. Export from Premiere Pro using the MPEG2-DVD preset and import the resulting two files (audio and video) in Encore for authoring. Any other files need to be split inside Encore into audio and video streams, and that can cause problems.

In Encore, once you are in "Custom", you should be able to manually adjust things. So make: VBR=2pass MinBR=~2Mbps Target (Avg)BR=15 - 17Mbps Peak (Max)BR = 40Mbps (not ~29, you're just limiting your PQ possibilities that way).
