The VMWare virtual sound driver installed with VMTools (or the Microsoft "Remote Audio" driver) will be utilized to pass sound from the VM. When editing the settings of a virtual machine, there is no "Sound Controller" available, when using either the vSphere HTML5-Client nor the Flash-Client. But using the VMRC or ESXi-HostClient, I can add an HD-Audio Soundcard in the settings of the VM.
