Re: Failed to initialise 3D audio As you guess that is the Miles folder (which contains 6 files) that is causing the problem. Also the mss32.dll file should be in the game folder (where the exes are).

3d Audio Try setting it to use the Miles 2d Audio driver and see if that makes a difference. Try updating your sound card drivers. Failing those, try a complete manual uninstall. There is a guide here. Be sure to follow every step, especially cleaning out the registry entries.

Check if you have the latest drivers: My Computer -> manage -> Device Manager -> Sound, video and game controllers -> Creative SB X-Fi. It tells me I have driver version: 5.12.6.1187. Then check DirectX Diagnostic, command "dxdiag". Make sure the Creative is the default audio device, then launch a "Test DirectSound".
