I just bought the original F.E.A.R game and it started up fine. I had sound during the intro, but when I got to the menu there was no sound. I let the cut scene at the beginning play and there was no sound there either. I tried validating files and reinstalling. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Posted February 1, 2006 (edited) Well, using the ACE Mega CoDecS Pack, under the "dash board" shortcut, make sure only "Microsoft" settings are checked. There should be 2 sets of them. Try not too scroll to fast cause it's easy to pass them up. Uncheck everything else. That's how I got mine to work.

Steam had a special deal for a pack of all of the F.E.A.R games before F.3.A.R and I decided to finally give the game a try. After a long download, I launched it and everything seemed to work fine. The sound worked for the little introduction screen for like NVIDIA and stuff, but once I got in game, there was no sound whatsoever.
