Since there is not much to tweak on the ZoomPlayer, NVDVD3.0 decoder, ffdshow setup, I want to try other solution. In the past few days I'm playing with the Media Player Classic MPC with the ffdshow. MPC has buildin MPEG2 decoder which use the opensource libmpeg codec. It's the ONLY software MPEG2 decoder that really has no Chroma Bug, IMO.

Media Player Classic has built in audio decoders for mp3, ac3, aac, etc. if you want to use something else then you need to disable them first. As for the brightness problem, it is probably an overlay issue. You could try a different ffdshow option to change the brightness. Also the video card driver should have a setting.
