Does anybody know how to configure WMP 12 or ffdshow to resolve this problem: While WMP 12 plays any video, there is no ffdshow video decoder tray icon, ffdshow audio decoder and Haali Media Splitter only. But ffdshow is configured to show these icons. As an effect, i cannot attach specific subtitle files to video and control subtitle timing.

After installing ffdshow tryouts (which is included in CCCP), the video and audio decoder icons should show up in the sys tray when ffdshow is decoding a video. These icons never showed up. A simple and quick fix for this would be to install Media Player Classic and use that to make ffdshow decode my media, but i wanted to use Windows Media Player.

WMP has been working fine (forever) and now it starts getting interrupted and the sound stops and starts. This happens about 5-20 minutes into playing audio files. It goes on for about 5 or 10 minutes and then everything seems OK. I noticed that when this happens, 2 icons suddenly appear in the system tray. They are ffdshow (audio and video).

i have a full installation of latest ffdshow stable version... windows media player 12 on windows 7... win7, ffdshow and wmp are 64-bit all ... the decoder already works. Try LAV filters: ... i managed to use ffdshow audio... the problem occours when i disable the "microsoft dtv-dvd video decoder"... but all goes wrong only in wmp, other player ...
