how can i achieve negative audio delay in ffdshow? Input field only accepts positive values. Some poorly encoded videos greatly benefit from 'Blur & NR/Chrominance smoother' filter'. On HD channel with extra quality settings (e.g.: deinterlacing) ffdshow also can go out of sync with audio, but this is a performance issue. One 2GHz cpu core has not enought power for this. I found out that older ffdshow uses libavodec as h.264/avc decoder. That was the setting on my "stable" machine.

The setting is called <Audio Delay>, but I can set its value to be positive or negative. If positive, it delays audio; if negative, it pushes audio ahead of video (i.e., delays video). Also, you'll likely have different delays with different sources. And, of course, make sure that what you're having issue with is actually in sync. Edit: Looking at the manual for the Denon, make sure you're adjusting "Audio Delay" and not "Delay Time". The former is for A/V sync, the latter for the surround speakers to widen the surround field.

ffdshow is the answer to almost everything. ac3filter also has a audio/video sync option thats accurate to 1ms but it's not per channel like ffdshow. both would none the less remain permanent across all files. [edit] actually ac3filter does have a per channel delay feature. It's on the gains tab. ac3filter still only supports 5.1 though.
