Reinstalling my audio drivers helped a lot, but the music is still skips and jitters when transitioning from one track to the next (ie: going from ambient "explore" music to combat, or entering new locations with different music.) I've had this problem both in the vanilla game and modded. Uninstalling ffdshow hasn't helped.

I've heard of audio problems happening on dual core cpus, but my quad core systems didn't have this issue. This fix might or might not solve audio problems on multi-core cpus. Then check driver updates, namely if Windows installed some new drivers for you. Win10 does it by default, it has to be turned off to get the control of your own drivers back. Also try to disable all other audio output devices. New Vegas regularly tried to output audio on the rear jack for me, instead of using the front one.
