Feb 2005. Location. Canada. But avi info and gspot both said there was audio in the converted mpeg file. I tried converting it about 4-5 times with and without ffdshow installed and once re-installed, and I still get a mpeg video file that shows it having audio according to gspot and avi info but the sound doesn't play when the video is played.

The files, when converted to .avi still syncs perfectly well. I load them into virtualdub, set compression to ffdshow H.264 7500kbps, audio no recompression. With the old ffdshow these resulting files from virtualdub still syncs fine, with newer ones it does not however.

On HD channel with extra quality settings (e.g.: deinterlacing) ffdshow also can go out of sync with audio, but this is a performance issue. One 2GHz cpu core has not enought power for this. I found out that older ffdshow uses libavodec as h.264/avc decoder. That was the setting on my "stable" machine.

With MPC-HC all filters enabled, video/audio is in sync, with SVP disabled bu FFDShow enabled, video/audio is out of sync, especially on 720p files. Playback is smooth it's just out of sync. An video delay of -200ms works for 720p files it seems, but then on SD files the sync is not necessary.
