Hi, You have two options. A) Demux stream in Mpeg Streamclip or similar convert ac3 audio to wav, aiff or somthing more editable, import the separated streams in final cut and put together in secuence, the mpeg2 video will be recode depends setings of your secuence. It created .MPG files. I've since copied the files on to an external hard drive and returned the camera. But when I import the files into Final Cut Pro 6 there is only video and no audio. Same if I try to play it in Quicktime. Playing the files in VLC works fine. It seems pretty silly that Final Cut Pro comes with this amazing looking intro ...

I'm running MPEG Streamclip 1.9 (with QuickTime Pro, but I'm not sure if that makes a difference). Use the generated AIFF file to add your audio back to your movie in Final Cut. To maintain quality, keep it in the format it was captured in. Final Cut should render it internally to DV anyway.
