It could be with the Coax connecting to your router, the ONT, the Fiber back to the local PON Splitter, the fiber going back to the CO, a problem in the CO itself, or perhaps a problem more widespread higher up the stream.

I am using a sound bar. The tv is mounted on a wall, and an hdmi cable runs from the Fios box to the tv. An optical cable runs from the tv to the sound bar and the tv is set to digital our. During these episodes of drop outs, I have verified that taking the sound bar out of the equation and using the tv speakers still has the same drop outs.
