Wasn't sure whether to start a new post or not and whether it should be here or the last.fm subreddit. i think foo_audioscrobbler is just outdated. The last time it was updated was 2010 i think and Last.FM has made many large changes since then.

Because this component is totally reliant on last.fm 's servers being up, any failed attempt to scrobble means that any attempt to try and re-authorise is going to fail for the same reason. It should report any issues in the Console (i've not tested this because I don't use it).

1) Some tab besides just the album tag changed in either the song you are playing, or in the data last.fm is storing for that song. Sometimes last.fm will store very wrong information for the album, which will lead to those scrobbles not being counted (particularly if you're using foo_audioscrobbler).
