Hola. El formato "interno" de audio de asterisk es slinear. Lo ideal para convertir audios es usar sox desde la misma línea de comandos del servidor. Pueden grabar un wav en stereo 44,khz o como más les guste, copiarlo al servidor y convertirlo a slinear usando sox: sox misonido.wav -t raw -c 1 -r 8000 misonido.sln.
