Salectric Forum Resident Location: Maryland The SP-9 uses 6DJ8 tubes. Many years ago when I had one, I tried several types and settled on an Amperex Bugle Boy as the best sounding. The tube most certainly makes a difference in sound quality and it’s worth the trouble and expense to find one that matches your tastes.
