Mac retired the fw800 interface but windows has that advantage of not having being forced to updgrade every year or loose your pc. Freaking Apple. Keep in mind that FW is integrated in the TB protocol and thus FW can be used just like before through a TB to FW adapter. The software controlling the FW unit will not see a difference.
