Found a solution: 1. Closed the GarageBand file. 2. In the Finder, I did a Get Info on the file, and under Ownership & Permissions, I changed all accesses to Read & Write. 3. Reopened the GB file and I could then record to the track I wanted. I don't know which of the accesses did it (if I had more time, I'd figure it out).

I did not close garageband. I opened my computer today and it told me that my audio track could not be found. The second, unedited half of the audio track region is still there but there is no audio, and the file is not in the package contents or the trash. Has anyone else had and solved this problem?
