I think the key line is "Just like the rest of GeForce 8 line-up, the 8800GT is going to get DVI Audio". If it's "just like" that means SPDIF loopback. Don't see any mention of an audio chip. Not that this is necessarily a bad thing. Both solutions (NVIDIA & ATI) support the same audio formats anyway.

The TV is hooked up to the computer via a DVI/HDMI connector. The video card is an 8600gt. The Issue: There's no sound! When I plug the analog output to HDMI-1's analog inputs, there is no sound. I connect my video card (8600GT) to the TV's HDMI port with a DVI-HDMI cable. As DVI doesn't carry audio and I don't have a receiver yet, I connected the analog audio to the TV's HDMI analog audio input. However I never managed to get sound out of the TV speakers. I confirmed that there was indeed audio coming from the analog output of my HTPC.
