In gentoo, my headset's microphone doesn't work when connected to the green jack (but headphones/speakers work). it works perfectly in ubuntu and windows (in other computers). Also, in gentoo, when connected to the pink jack the headset's microphone works (but not the headphones/speakers). I have pulseaudio and pavucontrol intalled.

Enable the hsphfd service ( systemctl enable hsphfpd -or- rc-update add hsphfpd ), start it ( systemctl start hsphfpd -or- /etc/init.d/hsphfpd start ), and as user, restart pulseaudio ( pulseaudio -k ). Connect your headset, and you should now have an HFP and an HSP profile, which will allow you to use your mic!
