Then you need to plug that audio cable shown above in to the GTX 280 like shown on the picture below. The other end of the cable needs to go in to your motherboards SPDIF which I'm not familiar with since I don't have the motherboard. uh i know my GTX260 has a spdif port right by the pcie 6 pin power ports.... gtx260 and 280 are built on the same board so you should have one as well. u just need the correct dvi to hdmi dongol to pass the digital audio to the hdmi cable properly.

Audio on GTX280?? nVidia. An DMI to HDMI adapter doesn't give you HDMI sound. The card has to have an HDMI adapter and audio support to output both oudio and video. as far as i know ATI is the only one with audio and HDMI support on some of there video cards.
