Here's how to fix it: In Pro Tools, click on the "Window" drop down menu, and select Workspace or Show Workspace from the drop down menu. Find your Glyph drive in the list on the left, go the A column and click on the letter there. It should be set to Record, if it's set to Transfer or Playback, you won't be able to record to the drive.

External hard drive is the only way to go and it should be formatted non-journaled. I just switched to Mac from PC (and having a host of other problems with my Mac)however, when trying to use a PC-formatted HD as a playback volume for Pro Tools -- not suitable for playback.

As to the drive problem itself. Assuming the drive is correctly formatted....go to Pro-Tools...in the pull down menu go to Windows/Show Workspace. In this window to the right of the your Glyph drive icon are column's labeled A and V. Under the A column switch that drive designation to "R"
