Its like I recently showed you how to source the audio in association with an HDMI input via the optical input on the Denon AVRX2200. You can rename/name any of the inputs. Only a true HDMI source would be able to pass the audio+video to the TV. Rather instead consider passing the HDMI sources to an HDMI switch then on to an HDMI audio extractor which converts the input to optical 5.1 to pass to the headphones with the HDMI output going to the AVR to play to the surround speakers.

On many receivers, I see some HDMI inputs are "assignable". Does it mean I won't be able to use all 6 HDMI inputs on 6 different sources in parallel? On my current receiver, for example, I have 4 HDMI inputs, 2 composite video inputs, but I only have 4 sources and I have to choose between HDMI and composite for each source.
