We've experience similar audio dropouts on HDMI (not 2.0) from the PVR, often turning the PVR off and back on again and it's okay. So some sort of sync issue. It will not get fixed, Samsung don't have a very good track record at fixing anything.

Do not have any audio drop out through my DA5000ES Sony receiver but that is because I have that connected to the dvd player via an optical cable. The Sharp has the ability to output audio via RCA cables and video only via HDMI so I turned the audio off for the HDMI and turned on the RCA jacks and the problem is gone.

From what source (cable/satellite, blu-ray, etc) do the drop outs occur? I ask because DirecTV (which I have) has notorious issues with audio drop outs using HDMI thru a AV receiver (Google it). The issue with D* has been around for years, relating to handshake issues decoding the Dolby surround signal coming from D*.
