I have an Onkyo TX-SR333 receiver connected to an LG CX OLED tv via ARC. There is an HDMI cable from the eARC port of the TV into the 'OUT' HDMI port on the receiver. My TV and other connected devices are then set to 'ARC' as the Audio Selector on the receiver. The default channel on the receiver is then set to 'TV/CD'.

Update To Drop Out Issue I was just in contact with Onkyo re: drop out issue and was told that there was a firmware update issue to fix problem that was released 4/18/17. I updated my receiver and now will have to wait and see if it happens again. Below is Onkyo reply with web site. Hello, an update was released to resolve this issue on 4/18.

If its always HDMI devices going in/out, do check if the 509 also has been known to have issues with HDMI. I recall years ago it was audio going in/out, then one day it all went black. Not saying that's what happening to you, but if you're unfamiliar with the Onkyo HDMI issues it's worth searching and reading up on.

Only about 3 times in the couple of years I've had my receiver has this happened. Just for a split second, the audio will drop out and the indicator on the receiver will "flick". Sort of like the receiver is looking for a source of audio. Meanwhile, the video will keep going. I'm thinking that it's a cable problem.
