If you plugged the AV calbes into a TV while the HDMI-to-DVI cable was plugged in you would only get sound, no video. Unlpug the HDMI-to-DVI cable and the console would restart with the video and audio working from the AV cable. I do not believe I have broken any connection or port on the console.

<O get a HDMI to DVI cable and also get hold of the old style AV cable that came with the old XBOX's (the one without the composite and optical out). That's it, it all fits so all you have to do is plug the HDMI to DVI cable in for Video and plug the red and white phono's from the normal XBOX AV cable into your PC speakers for sound.
