If you burn it in the correct format on the correct disc they will play just fine. DTS-audio containing VOB files burned to DVD play just like any other DVD. DTS wavs burned to CD will play just like a CD. And, if you do it correctly, standard wavs OR DTS wavs burned to a DVD (an "audio DVD") will play just fine, too.

Don not use Foobar to burn DTS CD's. If you have an image file like ex: coldplay-viva la vida.DTS .wav you can easily use ImgBurn , a free download, to do the job. You will be able to burn a DTS 5.1 CD if the image is actually 5.1 DTS. check this link : http://www.surroundbyus.com/sbu/viewtopic....17#refburnimage

You need to burn them as audio CDs and play them back through a player tha sends a digital audio signal to an amp that decodes DTS. If you can't get a digital signal to a DTS decoder you will get pink noise, which may damage your speaker if it is too loud. AC3 is Dolby Digital, and is not compatible with DTS.

You can encode a DTS file as DTS-CD, which has the same data rate as stereo audio found on CDs (but it is 5.1 channel lossy compressed). If you encoded your DTS file this way, all you need to do is create an audio CD in a program like Nero and drop your files in there. Nero should see them as normal .WAV files, and accept them.

I assume you'd use Read mode to create an image file from the original CD, then Write mode to burn the image to a new disc. When ripping a DTS CD you should be able to convert the audio to another 5.1ch format while ripping with foobar2000. ie 5.1ch wave or FLAC or AAC etc containing standard PCM audio.

DTS-CD files should look like 16/44.1 stereo WAV, or they won;t work on DTS-CD. These should be burned as an ordinary Audio CD, and played back via the digital outputs of your DVD player (Or CD player) into an amplifier that has a DTS decoder.
