0. Aug 17, 2010. I have a sony 46" Z-series Sony LCD and have the same problem. Recently upgraded from HR20-700 to HR24-500 and now have an HDMI audio problem at startup. I did not try power cycles of the TV or input cycles. What worked for me was unplugging the HDMI cable and plugging it back in.
