I own Fuze v2 and iAudio 9, they both have proprietary cable, iAudio 9 has a lot of settings, especially in EQ, Fuze v2 can run Rockbox (Fuze+ can't actually). To me Sansa Fuze sounds warmer than the Cowon player.

THE iAudio 9: The $120 - $180 Cowon i9 has been around since 2009 and is still a current Cowon model. It can be seen in the photo to the right of my iPod Touch 3G with the protective plastic still stuck to it and some test files displayed. It's impressively thin (far slimmer than the Sansa e200 series), and the display is bright and clear.

Sansa Clip 8GB & Cowon iAudio U5 Tests Used RMAA. Soundcard used is an Emu 1212m. Headphone simulation was done with a Y-splitter, with one end going to the Emu and the other to the headphone. I don't know if that's the correct way to do it.

I want the sansa clip jam on ebay and bought it for quite a good price, 34 €, and got it a few days later, good condition, original packing, nice. First test was the loudness - definitively better than the sport clip, though not as loud as the clip +. Then I loeded it up with an mp3 album - perfectly tagged - and an audio book.
