Installed the Nvidia proprietary driver. Video works, and dvd plays with sound in mplayer. But, internet you-tube has no sound. It used to have sound when it was in the new desktop. I have /.asoundrc in my home directory which specifies spdif. This old desktop is now dual boot. Squeeze 2.6.32 has sound in iceweasel.

Lenny 32-bit Iceweasel no sound [SOLVED?] I rebooted and it's working. So idk what broke or fixed it. I have alsa, pulseaudio and alsa-oss installed. The sound cards are Xtreme Audio PCI & onboard HDA Intel. I prefer Intel since it uses 5.1 surround, & b/c the Creative card has no open source driver.

Each time before starting iceweasel I must run "alsaconf" and "alsactl store" on terminal. Otherwise there is still no sound. On terminal before running above commands. #. # speaker-test. speaker-test 1.0.13. Playback device is default. Stream parameters are 48000Hz, S16_LE, 1 channels. Using 16 octaves of pink noise.

I'm not planning to include the vlc plugin as I've never felt I missed it, but if people think it's a good idea we'll certainly discuss it.

I'm using a fresh install F20 of that now (still trying to work out whehter to go back to 19 for the Gnome 3.8), with Firefox 26, and it works fine.I think as IceWeasel is a fork of Firefox, it might not have this feature, or it might have to be enabled.
