The Akita has 165v DC (loaded) going into the mic. the lower voltage does 2 things: first the mic runs cooler thus increasing the tube life and the Akita has slightly less natural tube compression. The Sony capsule is beautifully made and the machining on the body was nice. The extra bump in the high end comes from the Sony capsule.
