I keep gravitating back to the W7. Had a 12W7 and 13W7 and now regret selling them. The W7's are a pain in the ass to tune and thus I would suspect one of the reasons people say they are not SQ subs, but do remember a variant of the W7 is in JL Audio's Fathom subs which is considered one of the best compact, if not the best compact SQ sub.
