I purchased this subwoofer to fill in the low end of my 2004 wrx's new audio install. I didn't want a big sub in the trunk and have to run additional amplifiers just to have a well rounded system. I thought this would also be a better option to an under the seat sub. I have 6.5 coaxials in the front, running off a JL Audio JD400x4.

When Jl Audio says this subwoofer is capable of high output with high fidelity sound, they mean it. I literally had to turn down the Sub-W level down to 2 on my Alpine CDA-9807. Be careful, don't use it for attention especially when powered by the 500/1. It hits ridiculously hard. Managed to hit 121 at a volume of 12 out of 35 total.

This is a 2011 model of this subwoofer. I called the local JL audio dealer and they wanted $200 dollars more for the same subwoofer. My original JL 13 w6 surround broke after 6 years of use. I guess the it dry rotted from being in the car so long. I hope this one last just as long. I set the jumpers n the subwoofer in parallel for a 2ohm load.
