I've been doing some research, and I think I've narrowed down my choices to a pair of JL Audio Fathoms, or a pair of Velodyne Digital Drive subs. The JL Audio subs seem to have more output and perhaps a bit more low freq extension than the Velodynes, but the Velodynes have the digital room correction function.

After having the Velodyne DD 10 Plus setup as a single sub in my room 1/2 down the side wall and calibrated to the room damn near perfectly, I'm noticing a few things it does vs the JL Fathom F110 V2. Both of these subs running in a single sub setup fill the room with warm fast tight bass and cut out as fast as they start up.
