Weighing close to 30 kgs and running 2 x 80 watts class A - at least from specs. I had expected a top panel suitable for frying eggs. This is definitely not the case. Compared to my 6AS7 valves (Audio Mirror) consuming some 300 watts, this Jungson is cool.

Out of curiosity, I wanted to try a different type of amp and, after a lot of consideration, decided to buy the Jungson Audio JA-88d (09) which is a zero feedback, class-A, 80wpc design. Out of the box I was totally impressed with the physical gravitas and build of this amp. For what little it costs, you are getting 65 pounds of industrial art.

I have also heard the 120 watt class A-B Jungson integrated with the Callistos. With the additional power, the bass response improved, it maintained good detail and soundstage but lost a bit of the rich musicality the 88D has. It loves upgraded p/cords. I'm currently using a Dream State Deep Dream with it and I'm very pleased.
