using K-Lite-Mega-Codec-Pack.v.5.0.0 the audio is out of sync by a second or two. So now My system is reformatted again as I post this. I've installed no codecs at all hoping to get the correct codec for the 108p HDV h264 mkv files from the board. Please advise, Thanks!

Downloaded this extenstion from the microsoft store, and updated my K-Lite codec to the latest standard version here. (There are other codec packs I think, but I've always used K-Lite) I could now turn off Direct Show when playing 5K video, and the audio sync was perfect again.

First of all follow gimps instruction to download and install the K-lite code pack from www.free-codecs.com. Once the above is done launch the Codec Tweak Tool on the list that follows you will only have the option to enable the Nero Digital MP4/MOV parser - do not enable. You should disable the Nero MPEG-1/2/4 & AVC Decoder.
