IQ7 are very neutral sounding speakers with clear midrange and airy treble. They really grow with more expensive amps and sources. The strongest quality is imaging. These loudspeakers have ability to completely disappear in the soundstage making instrumens and voices to appear as they were there in front of you, very solid and lifelike.

The IQ7 speakers add no resonance, coloration nor anything to the music & sounds reproduced. They image is solid, and the soundstage is wide, deep & tall, but again, not exaggerated. With these speakers, the quality of the source material, the recording, the mix…everything is as it should sound.

Kef IQ7/9: open and spacious mids and highs with good bass performance (IQ9 understandably somewhat more powerfull then IQ7). Overall sound is slightly warm which results in instruments slightly melting together. This is most noticable with classical and jazz music. Rock music seems to suit them better - just awesome what comes out in this case.
