The HM-7U has a K47 style capsule (heard in Neumann and Soundelux mics) and has a max SPL Handling of 132, which means that the microphone can be used for guitar cabs and louder sources, along with a -6 db switch. There is also a low cut filter if you want to remove rumble; not bad for a mid priced microphone!

I listened to the files on the link for the HM7U. And I own a V67. Lots of similarities. But the V67 is a harsh little pig and the HM7 is very smooth in contrast but something about the midrange is very close on both of them as far as sonic character.
